Mr Kemal KÖPRÜLÜ
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary at Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus to the Republic of Turkey
He was born on June 24, 1968 in Nicosia.
After completing his secondary and high school education in Nicosia, he completed his undergraduate education on Business Administration in England between 1988 and 90.
Between 1992 and 93, he worked as a specialist in the Credits Department of the Cyprus Faisal Islamic Bank.
He did his military service as a reserve officer between 1993 and 1995 as a translator officer in the Liaison Officer of the Security Forces Command.
In the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on May 6, 1996, He took office as 3rd secretary.
In 1997, with the contribution of the Republic of Turkey Embassy in Nicosia for young diplomats held at Bilkent University, "International Relations" by participating in the course received diplomas.
Between 1998 and 2002, he served as the Deputy Representative in TRNC Abu Dhabi Representation.
After returning to the mainland, he started to work in the Economic, Cultural and Social Affairs Department under the General Directorate of Foreign Affairs and was promoted to the 1st Secretary in 2003. He served in various departments of the Foreign Affairs Office.
He took an active role in the technical committee studies held within the scope of the Annan Plan negotiations between February-March 2004.
In 2007, he was promoted to the position of Director / Representative and continued to work in the Foreign Affairs Department as the responsible Director in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
He served as the TRNC London Representative between 2009 and 2011.
After returning back to the country, he again worked as the Director responsible for the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and was appointed as the General Director of the Foreign Affairs Department in 2013.
He speaks English very well.
He is married and has a daughter.
